SERVING: Fargo, Moorehead and West Fargo

Metro Area Transit (MAT) operates Monday through Saturday, offering 25 routes to provide you with affordable, quality transportation. All buses are wheelchair-accessible.

Special User Card Renewal: All passengers who receive discounted fares on MAT fixed route due to age or disability will need to complete a short renewal form. Forms are available through the MAT drivers, GTC Dispatch and the Transit Administrative Offices. Please complete the renewal form prior to June 1, 2010. Click here for a printable version of the renewal form.

Passengers who have a Special User Card for MAT Paratransit, the door-to-door transportation, will be receiving a recertification letter in the mail within the next few weeks.

Token Retirement: MAT will retire bus tokens and discontinue their usage on January 1, 2011. Passengers will be able to use their current inventory of tokens through December 31, 2010. Any tokens must be used by this date; any remaining tokens will not be exchanged and no monetary refunds will be given. On February 1, 2010, MAT discontinued the sale of tokens and began selling single-ride tickets, in packets of 20, in place of tokens. For more information, click HERE (.PDF).

MAT Completes Farebox Conversion: MAT has installed new fareboxes on all of its fixed route buses. The former MAT passes will no longer be accepted on any bus – passengers need to exchange any old transit passes for new MAT passes. Any remaining time or rides will be transferred onto new passes.
