We offer visitation services which allows safe exchange to offer a positive, safe, child-friendly and neutral site where children and parents can be assured that a supervised visitation or exchange will be safe and conflict free. Proud member of the Supervised Visitation Network.
Adult Day Services of Bemidji offers a reliable, caring and supportive environment where Seniors of varying abilities can go for socialization, healthy meals, health observation, and recreation. Seniors and their caregivers may choose Adult Day Services as a respite option or as a place for the Senior to be while the caregiver is at work all day. Support services are available for the caregivers as they transition their family member into higher degrees of service.
Adult Day Services promotes healthy aging with the focus to improve and enhance overall wellness.
Through a System of supportive services in one location the program conveniently assists people experiencing isolation due to physical and psychosocial demands. Attendance maintains and/or increases independence for older adults. Participants can continue to live at home and remain an active part of family and community.
Adult Day Services has handicap buses available to transport Seniors to and from their homes within a 10 mile radius of Bemidji. The buses are available for use by the public if the drivers participate in training, have appropriate licensure and insurance and are approved by ADS. Funding is provided by United Way and CADI. ADS clients are charged 50 cents per mile, billable to MA.

Since 1994, Stellher Human Services, Inc. has been helping families and children with crisis, counseling, and stabilization services in several northern Minnesota counties including Becker, Beltrami, Clearwater, Hubbard, Koochiching, Lake of the Woods, Mahnomen, Wadena, and Ottertail.

Student First: A school-based, community-driven program that helps youth identify their strengths and empowers theme to pursue their life goals. Bemidji Middle School Truancy Tracker Program: Provides mentoring, tutoring, adult role models and any other necessary means of support to youths in Grades 6-8 to help identify and address issues contributing to truancy.
Re-Engagement Case Management: Provides case management services to students with attendance issues who attend Bemidji High School, Voyageurs Expeditionary School, and Blackduck Schools to reduce truant behavior and prevent court involvement.
Truancy Case Management: Provides case management services to students and families who are involved in the Court system due to truancy.
Our Mission: The Bemidji Community Food Shelf is a faith-based, caring place that listens to those who are experiencing food insecurity. We work with our partners to be inclusive and to provide fresh, nourishing foods for those living in Beltrami County and the Bemidji School District.
Households may make one visit per calendar month which will provide about 10 meals, or 3-5 days of food per household. Services are based on income eligibility. We are also a distribution site for Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors(NAPS) boxes for income eligible seniors 60 and over. Applications are available at the food shelf.
Please bring a current ID if you have one. We will need the names and birthdates of household members and the gross income for the household.

The Bemidji Senior Center is located in beautiful downtown Bemidji at 216 Third Street NW.
Open Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM the building comes alive early as the Senior Creations Gift Shop opens for business and seniors come in for the various programs offered.
The Senior Center is a place where active adults can receive nutritious meals, socialization, exercise, tax assistance, a driver safety refresher course, informative lectures, creative activities, volunteer opportunities, and a sense of belonging.
Senior Nutrition Program: Lunch every day Monday – Friday at noon. You MUST call at least one day in advance to reserve your meal. Call between 9:00am – 1:00pm to make a reservation. Suggested contribution for seniors age 60+ is $6.00. People under age 60 is $10.00. Gift certificates and meal tickets are available at the site. Delivery to your home is also available (Meals on Wheels).
Tax Assistance: AARP Volunteer Tax Preparers assist income tax returns from February to April 15th on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Additionally, they go over property taxes or renter’s rebates from June through August on the second Monday of each month from 9:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m., no appointment is needed. After a disaster, communities and families turn to the Red Cross for help—and we stand ready to provide comfort and care—free of charge.
The Red Cross helps disaster victims by providing safe shelter, hot meals, essential relief supplies, emotional support and health services like first aid. Trained Red Cross workers often meet one-on-one with families to develop individual plans and identify available resources to help aid recovery.
Red Cross disaster relief focuses on relieving immediate disaster-caused needs so that families can get back on their feet and resume their lives as quickly as possible. The Red Cross also supports emergency workers, links family members outside the disaster area, and provides blood and blood products to disaster victims.

Sanford Bemidji Medical Center, originally founded in 1898, has more than 6,000 admissions and 800 births each year in our level II nursery. As a regional hub, the emergency department, a level III trauma center, treats nearly 30,000 patients a year.
Our care team provides inpatient and outpatient surgery, cardiac care, general medical/surgical/orthopedics care, intensive and critical care services, radiology, diagnostic testing, rehabilitation services and emergency care. We have a women’s & children’s center and a special care nursery.

Open to the public, Red Lake Transit provides door to door transportation on the Red Lake Reservation everyday and to Bemidji on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Call for a ride at least 1 hour ahead of time. Costs are $1.00 for adults, 50 cents for elders 55 and older, 50 cents for students, children 5 years and younger ride free.
Children 5 years old and younger are not allowed to ride unsupervised.
