The Leech Lake Anishinaabe Women’s Halfway House treatment component is a seven bed facility designed to work with the client as a “whole”, Native American 12 step approach. We provide individual counseling, groups, Cognitive Behavioral therapies, Service coordination, relapse education as well as incorporating women’s issues, with a special focus on trauma, grief and loss for a total or minimum of 15 hours per week of treatment.
We have fully trained and licensed staff, 24/7 camera surveillance and security. Our building is new with a playground for visiting children. We encourage clients to have family members come to visit.

- All women who are enrolled in a federally recognized tribe

Anishinabe Legal Services is a Legal Services Corporation (LSC) grantee and independent 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides free legal assistance to low-income individuals living on or near the Leech Lake, Red Lake, & White Earth Reservations in Northwestern Minnesota.
ALS represents clients before tribal courts, state courts, and agencies to help them protect their rights. Anishinabe Legal Services has offices in Leech Lake, Red Lake, and White Earth.
Residents of Leech Lake, White Earth, and Red Lake reservations whose income and assets fall within the financial eligibility guidelines. Services are also provided to residents of Leech Lake, White Earth, Grand Portage, and Bois Forte who are 60 and older regardless of income.

The ARCC Emergency Shelter’s mission is to provide safe shelter and supportive services to those experiencing intimate partner violence.
The shelter will provide residents with access to supportive services including food, clothing, laundry facilities, access to the ARCC library and computers, referrals to other agencies, and a listening ear.
Akeley Regional Community Center is a not for profit thrift store. Many new items come to the thrift store every day. Great for back to school shopping, supplying a dorm room, changing your decor and a great book room to update reading material.
The ARCC also has a meeting room, gymnasium, library, and an archery club all available for use.

Autumn Hills Assisted Living is a facility which offers assistance with all activities of daily living. We house up to 16 residents and are located in beautiful Bemidji, Minnesota. Sanford Baker Park Senior Living is located at our Sanford Lakeside Campus next to beautiful Lake Bemidji. Sanford Baker Park Senior Living provides housing subsidized by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. It provides housing for low-income seniors 62 and older. Residents usually pay 30% of their income toward rent.
Baker Park residents enjoy general maintenance, monthly social and leisure activities.

Shawn Whiting has nearly a decade of experience in Community Counseling. During that time, he has worked with individuals, couples, families and groups of all ages. He has experience with the majority of mental health diagnoses but believes you don’t have to have a mental illness diagnosis to benefit from counseling.
Shawn takes a whole person, strengths based approach to counseling. He has specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy), TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and the Duluth Model for Domestic Violence Interventions.
Shawn holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of North Dakota. He is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC, License #934) and Board Certified Supervisor in the state of Minnesota.
Bearly Used is located on Main Street in Park Rapids, MN. The store is a popular stop amongst locals and town visitors. Bearly Used employs Hubbard County DAC clients to help with sorting items, stocking shelves, pricing and more.
