All About Water Well Wish
Welcome to Water Well Wish, where we believe that clean water is a fundamental right. Join our mission to provide life’s most basic need – clean, safe drinking water – to families and communities in need. Lack of access to healthy drinking water can reduce life expectancy by up to 20 years. Together, we can make a significant impact and bring hope and health to those without access to this essential resource.
Your donations will directly fund the construction of water wells in underserved areas within the United States. You’ll receive regular updates on the wells you helped build and the lives you’ve transformed.
Our mission will not end until every American has access to clean, safe water. Each water well represents a life-changing gift for the people and families it serves. Since the inception of the program in August of 2023, we’ve already completed wells for 21 families, and 8 more are on the way, and every day we receive more and more applications, creating a current backlog of multiple families in desperate need and waiting.
Itasca County Habitat for Humanity is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization. We partner with people who are dedicated to eliminating substandard housing, both locally and worldwide.
Together, we aim to eliminate substandard housing through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes, by pushing for fair housing policies, and by providing training and resources to help families improve their living conditions. Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a safe, decent and affordable place to call home.

Havenwood, where residents are cared for without regard to age, sex, race, color, creed, religion, handicap, or national origin. The Home is licensed by the State of Minnesota, certified for Medicare and Medicaid, and complies with all standards mandated by regulating agencies.
Havenwood Care Center (formerly Beltrami County Nursing Home) has a long history of caring for the elderly. Originally, long-term care services were provided at the Lake Julia farm, 15 miles north of Bemidji. From 1917 until 1968, that facility was one of the few in the region dedicated to the ill and aged who required long-term care. In 1968, the old home was retired and a new 85 bed facility opened at our current location. In 1974, a 48 bed addition extended capacity to 133 beds. We currently utilize 90 beds.
Although the site has changed, the same dedication and spirit of love and understanding exists. We continue our pledge to maintain the highest possible standards of nursing care and to provide social, recreational, intellectual, spiritual, physical and re-motivational activities specifically designed to meet individual needs.
Havenwood is a place where the joys, frustrations, and excitement of living are shared by residents and staff.

Housing Matters works with Long-Term Homeless individuals with diagnosed disabilities utilizing a Minnesota state funded program called Housing Support. Our agency works with private market landlords in the community to secure available housing options, broker and maintain relationships between landlords and participants, make payments of rent and utilities on a participant’s behalf, and to provide ongoing supports and basic need supplies.
Services
At Housing Matters we provide intensive case management services to build relationships that can foster individual growth. Implementing evidence based practices in our strategy to working with others is critical in achieving success. Some of the practices and philosophies that we implement in our work are; Motivational Interviewing techniques, recognizing the Stages of Change, utilizing a Harm Reduction approach, as well as understanding mental health, chemical health, and physical health barriers that can create serious difficulties for people in our community. We recognize that each person has a different set of skill sets and goals, but that everyone has a right to be provided with tools and resources to realize them. We believe that cyclical poverty, chemical health, and institutionalized racism have all played roles which have resulted in the current landscape of mental health, substance use, and its’ relation to homelessness.
